Irritable Bowel Syndrome

“I am a otherwise fit and healthy woman. I work full time and have 4 kids. I run and swim to keep fit as well as practicing some yoga. I cook from scratch and have followed a gluten free diet for the past 8 tears. Why then have struggled with IBS symptoms for around 10 years? I thought I was doing everything right! My gp advised a low fodmap diet and even that was not helping. I met Gemma for an hour long consultation where we went through my life from a holistic point of view. Very quickly I began to have regular bowel movements. My energy levels have returned and I no longer need a nap in the day time. My hip and foot pain is considerably reduced. I don't feel like snacking in the evening any more and am more satisfied by my meal. My libido has come back, one happy husband.” [[C, 49.]]

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome

"I was first was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 17 after a few years of very irregular periods and intense pain. A year after Dr's thought I might also have endometriosis and did a laporoscopy internally. At this time they also found a very inflamed bowel and diagnosed me with IBS. In 2017-2019 I went travelling abroad and kept getting infections, both urinary and stomach and landed up in hospital in Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I decided to return from my travels to get my health in check. Since 2019 I have felt like my body was in an absolute mess. I saw Dr's, had procedures, scans, blood tests. I had some okay advice at times but on the whole my experience was negative and I felt like giving up. My body just didn't feel right, I was in tired, had acne, hirsutism and was in pain and bloated a lot of the time. Gemma started introducing me to Ayurveda and a more holistic way of thinking/being, my periods are now on a 28 day regular cycle, not so painful or with big clots, my acne is clearing, energy levels improving, my bowel movements are regular and my most recent ultrasound showed minimal cysts on my ovaries!” [[S,30.]]

Ayurvedic Facials

Ayush-Longevity an Ayurvedic education institute and the first institute to offer Ceylon Ayurveda concepts for health and beauty education in Sri Lanka. They spent many years with doctors across Sri Lanka and India creating special Ayurvedic Formulas for different skin conditions, whilst incorporating traditional massage techniques into their treatment programme. I experienced one on one training with the founder of Ayush-Longevity Dr. Saranga an Ayurvedic Doctor and advanced skin care specialist. Currently I am the only person in the UK who practices this form of Ayurvedic procedure. This is something special and unique which I am so excited to share with you all.

Modern day perspective of the face states that the face is a reflection of facial expression, sending a message that words may not. The face is also considered to be an object of beauty. The muscles under the skin control facial expression and when the skin moves they create wrinkles at the muscle line.

Ayurvedic perspective; the face is composed of 7 layers obtaining; structure, function and support. Avabhashini is the outer most later, this is the source of complexion that reflects the quality of our inner body tissues and overall health.

An Ayurvedic Facial consists of; skin consultation, cleanse, 20 minutes massage, marma activation, steam, exfoliation, mask and toner. If you are tired of chemical only facials available on the market then this really is the procedure for you. From start to finish I use only natural products to revitalise the skin, along with a deeply relaxing face massage and Marma (energy point) activation to release stagnant energy !
